Strength analysis
Add details, new features to add value
Pro scooters are used by kids and teenagers mostly in skatepark for freestyle. They need to be resistant to hard shocks, but also enable personalization.
During this project mixing engineering and design i was asked to create:
"A new model of pro scooter, stronger than competitors, with added value"
PRO SCOOTER
IN THE COMPANY ELPEX
DEVELOPMENT
User interviews were conducted to understand the current problems of scooters but also the need regarding technical aspects but also aesthetics which is one really important point for the target.
All along the process, the designed parts were tested on Solidworks
3 PROTOTYPES
FINAL CONCEPT WITH ADDED VALUE
This project has been really interesting as it was for me the chance to combine engineering and design. The first prototypes were made before the Industrial Design course I've taken this year. It was then refined during this course. I think you can see my evolution and my skills in product design that improved. Making a strong product is one step, but adding value, finding the thing that will make it stand out is the step above. And sometimes this step can be reached through interaction or aesthetics.
